TAFLA O5

60 x 40

Zieta’s TAFLA O is the most organic of mirrors series. Its bionic form inspired by a drop of water or liquid metal enchants the space making it optically larger and more spacious.
On the polished surface of the TAFLA mirrors, all steel refractions are perfectly visible – the artistic effect of “controlled loss of control” in the process of shaping their form.
Mirrors made with FiDU technology are a result of free deformation caused by high internal pressure. This process creates objects of great durability yet of subtle structure. Just like the very first mirrors, TAFLAs are made of metal. FiDU technology brings out the true face of steel and creates objects of unique shapes.

INFORMATIONS SUR LE BAGROUND
Polish artist Oskar Zieta discovered an innovative technology for treating stainless steel. Using this technology, he lays two wafer-thin, laser-cut sheets of stainless steel on top of each other and literally inflates them. This results in shiny, sculptural works of art reminiscent of organic forms. Through the thickness of the stainless steel and the pressure applied, the artist can determine what shape the interior will take, even after it has been welded shut.

The process, also called FIDU, is what Zieta uses to create his lightweight mirrors RONDO and TAFLA. Looking at them, viewers are instantly astonished: RONDO is reminiscent of a silvery doughnut, gracefully arching into three-dimensional space. TAFLA appears like an organically growing work of art, and its elegant appearance transforms any room. Depending on where you are standing in the room, the RONDO and TAFLA mirrors reflect differently – every step revealing a new dimension. Oskar Zieta’s creations inhabit the space somewhere between art and architecture, between sculptures and furnishings.

The artistic HOT PIN hangers are perfect DIY gifts for any occasion. Placed in the oven, the flat, welded sheet-metal object transforms into a three-dimensional home accessory. In a creative arrangement on the wall, HOT PINS also have a hypnotic effect – there are no limits to your imagination for hanging them!
