“Safe European” came about in 1998 with the goal to document the “new culture of unemployment” in Europe. In that respect the Swede, Pelle Kronestedt (born 1968), produced oppressive, as well as liberatingly humorous, portraits from everyday life in Europe. They have been shown in over 20 galleries and museums worldwide. He teaches photojournalism at Sundsvall University today.
