Introduction

Giraffe Manor

Klaus Thymann a l’instinct des lieux et des moments particuliers, si extraordinaires parfois que nous doutons de ce que nous voyons. Giraffe Manor existe vraiment : à Nairobi, au Kenya. Les hôtes de ce petit hôtel se partagent le jardinet avec un troupeau de girafes de Rothschild, une sous-espèce menacée, originaire de la réserve naturelle située à proximité. De cette dernière, il ne subsiste que quelques centaines d’exemples vivant en liberté. Parfois curieuses, les girafes regardent à travers les fenêtres, d’aucunes se laissant même nourrir par les visiteurs assis à leur table de petit-déjeuner : une idée aussi insolite que touchante. Dans ces scènes presque surréalistes, Klaus Thymann surprend tout en faisant sourire.

Curriculum vitæ

Klaus Thymann est né en 1974 au Danemark ; il ouvre son premier atelier en 1995 à Copenhague. Il travaille comme photographe et réalisateur à Londres.
